Temporary Abandonment Cap Test Tools (TACTT)
The TACTT is a unique technology, developed in collaboration with UKCS operators, to support the safe and efficient re-entry and abandonment of suspended mudline wells. It can be deployed through open water from a light well intervention vessel or from a rig.
The TACTT will pressure test a temporarily abandoned well to provide assurance to operators that it is safe to remove the TA cap and begin P&A operations. The technology delivers maximum efficiencies and savings by enabling vessel-based deployment for well testing ahead of abandonment. If pressure buildup exists, the TACTT can safely vent the pressure and install a secondary seal until rig-based operations can commence.
The TACTT is complemented by a Wash Tool (TACWT) which is used for removing marine debris and ensuring TA cap engagement and a Grapple Tool (TACGT) which serves as a contingency for removal of the cap should damage to the running interface occur.
Our TA Cap Slip Retrieval Tool (TACSRT) is run using a NC50 connection and will lock on to the cap if the TACTT cannot latch directly onto the lugs. It is spring loaded to ensure the lock is always engaged if there's loss of hydraulic pressure.
The TACTT and its suite of tools are part of a range of compact and ultra-lightweight subsea technologies designed to improve the efficiency and bottom line of your intervention, integrity and abandonment operations. The TACTT has already returned substantial savings for a number of operators.

Benefits
